My business start-up experience involved spending a lot of time in and around manufacturing processes and with man-machine user interfaces.

Time and care went into developing customized technical manuals designed to be used by the operator in a real-time manufacturing environment, complete with color graphics, exploded assemblies, working animation and video. This was a first in the industry, as most manuals traditionally were printed and easily misplaced, out-of-date and lacked any real practical application on the manufacturing floor (dust, dirt, humidity).

Operator safety was a primary concern in developing manuals that could go anywhere a support technician had to go, as stored energy in the form of electrical, heat, pressure, gravity and other factors contributed to injuries and fatalities of operators while repairing or servicing equipment.

Clients included GM Powertrain and Johnson Controls Plastics Machinery Division.
